Ho, Ho, Ho Merry Lostmas

I have to give credit where credit is due. This outstanding series of observations comes from DocArzt over at his Lost blog. He has observed a series of hints and easter eggs buried in episode 4.01 “The Beginning of the End”.

It seems that buried throughout the episodes are symbols of the element Holmium (chemical symbol HO. According to DocArzt and Wikipedia, Holmium has the highest magnetic moment of any metal. You should definitely read his post for Holmium references in the episode.

Holmium theories have been brought up before on various lost forums, but DocArzt’s evidence is the best support yet.

Now, this part is all me. What if the “not Penny’s boat”ers are searching for Holmium. It might have some extraordinary value or militaristic purpose. Magnets have reported healing properties (umm Locke), and they have been responsible for all sorts of physical and metaphysical changes in mater. Also, take a look at this:

Compare the atomic representation of Holmium and the Hatch map. Do you notice any similarities? This new support for the Holmium Theories is definitely good stuff. Do you have any thoughts or anything to add? Sound off in the comments.

    Um, I thought that it just meant 815.

    H = 8th letter of alphabet
    O = 15th letter of alphabet.

    Jack gets HO in Horse, Charlie stood next to the ho-ho’s, etc…
