Those Lost Writers Will Do Anything.

There is a great interview with Jorge Garcia (Hurley) from lost over at E Online! Aside from the normal quasi-insightful, almost spoilers that these interviews tend to reveal, there is a bit of insight into how much the writers go through to avoid giving too much of the story away.

Jorge is asked about the “chair” and who was in it. We all agree that it was Christian, but when they originally shot it, they had Hugo sit in the chair That’s right, Hugo would have seen himself in the chair.

Here is the quote:

Crazy town! Why did they change it?
I don’t know. At first I thought maybe they decided that putting Jack’s father there was a much better twist, which it was, so they changed it. But now I think maybe they planned that all along and didn’t want to have it in the script because they didn’t want anyone to know about it.

That tidbit is really neat. With a show that is as tangled up as Lost, I have often wondered how they keep the leaks to a minimum (they are better at it than our own government). It seams that the Oceanic 6, the Others and the Not Penny’s Boater’s aren’t the only ones with secrets.
