To quote Faraday, this Lost Episode 4.03 “The Economist†was “Far more than weirdâ€. I honestly do not know where to begin. This episode was pivotal in so many ways. In my humble opinion, it changes so much in regard to where the show has been lingering, and where it is headed.
Sayid is a hitman killing for Ben. CRAZY! Presumably, Ben has Sayid killing the members of a specific organization or purpose. Specifically, He is tracking down Abaddon’s group. If you didn’t catch it, the Girl (Elsa) and Naomi have the same bracelet. There is a blood freud between Abaddon and Ben, and I wish I knew what the heck it is about. I feel that the next episode will crack that relationship wide open. What I do predict is that in the episode 3 season finally, when Kate refers to “himâ€, she means Ben. This is probably the best character development and plot twist this show has had to offer. What do you think the heart of this relationship is?
Confirmation of the Time Slip. I wish I was a physics major and not an english major, this all would make more sense. What is confirmed is that time shifting is confirmed (yeah! I was at least partially correct). The comment from Faraday of “Follow the heading we came in on,†is very intriguing. It makes me wonder what happened to Michael. Ben gave him a very specific heading of 325 to get away. A large part of me still thinks Ben sent him to the freighter, but what if Ben sent him somewhere sometime very specific? That would be very intriguing.
What I do know about the time slip is that the rocket from the freighter is delayed by 31 minutes. What I do not understand is why voice communication (over the satellite radio) is in real time, but physical objects are delayed. I am struggling with this, and over the week, I am hoping to learn some quantum physics and figure it out. If you are a physics expert… HELP!
Jacob’s Cabin is missing. Despite all of the crazy twists including Hurley playing opossum to catch Sayid and Ben’s secret room, I am most intrigued by Jacob’s cabin. That “magical box,†has got me baffled. When Locke saw it the first time, it was surrounded by the powder, and I had assumed that the powder was some sort of barrier. Hurley saw the cabin without the powder, and this time the cabin was simply missing. Dang it! I really want to know what this means, but I am afraid this is an episode 117 (the last episode) reveal. I do think we are going to be teased ad nausea with Jacob bits this season, but we will get no meat. This is frustrating, but I know that the Jacob person/force is the key to EVERYTHING?
What stood out to you about this episode? Are there any topics you want me to dive deeper into? If so, sound off.
