Freighter Four - Minkowski Revealed

Fisher StevensThis guy here is Fisher Stevens (image via Wikipedia Commons). You might recognize him; he is a pretty active actor. He was the wacky indian scientist in Short Circuit (Who’s Johnny? she said),. he was also Chuck on a wacky television show titled Early Edition. If you don’t recognize him, he is tends to be a wacky, unpredictable, talented character. He has been reveled to play Mikowski, the Freighter Four’s nemesis back on “not Penny’s boat.”.

The character’s name, Minkowski, is the same of a German Math wizard who first worked out the 4 dimensional time/space theory that we currently use to drive our understanding of physics. Minkowski worked with Einstein to develop many of the time/space theories that are being fiddled with by the Lost writers.

Given Stevens’ unpredictable, wacky self, I do not see him as the big, scary threat that some have predicted him as. He is going to be a darker and simplier bad guy, much like Ben. I also think that Desmond and Minkoski will have the same sort of relationship that Locke and Ben and Jack and Sawyer have. These dualistic relationships drive the tension that is at the heart ABC’s Lost.

Did you see him in the sneak peek though? He was tied up in the same room on the frieghter that they stash Desmond.

Yeah, I am thinking that is a ploy - Desmond was known by the freighter four, and his abilities might be understood.

I think that either it happens so Minkowski gains Desmond’s trust, or that Desmond’s presence messes with Minkowski’s similar ability.

I will post the sneak peeks and previews on Tuesday.

The union of space and time into a four-dimensional whole. More precisely, the inseparable four-dimensional manifold, or combination, which space and time are considered to form in the special and general theories of relativity. In the absence of a gravitational field, spacetime reduces to Minkowski space.

Minkowski space is a finite-dimensional vector space, especially a four-dimensional one, together with an indefinite inner product with one positive or timelike direction and many negative or spacelike directions. In particular, it describes ordinary spacetime in the special theory of relativity. It is named after Hermann Minkowski. The show writers are not following Einstein/Minkowski spacetime but quantum spacetime theories.
