Due to the writer’s strike, ABC’s hit series Lost has received a shortened season schedule and a mid-season hiatus. With a few weeks delay between the 8th episode, “Meet Kevin Johnson,” and the 9th episode, “Bakir,” “The Shape of Things to Come” (edit: Thanks Lostlover!) we have plenty of time to ponder and predict what we will see after the show returns.
Before I get started with my professionally amateur predictions, I thought I would remind you about the remainder of the season. Here is the post-break schedule for ABC’s Lost:
Episode 4.09 24th April
Episode 4.10 1st May
Episode 4.11 8th May
Episode 4.12 15th May - Finale Part 1
Episode 4.13 22nd May - Finale Part 2
Also, it is worth noting that when Lost reappears after the break, it will air one hour later at 10pm ET/PT. That’s right, to fully enjoy Lost, a fan will have to stay up one hour later. The shift is due to ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy returning and taking over the 9pm slot.
So, what can be expected from the remaining series of lost? Here are my Lost predictions:
- We will see the dark and twisted past of our bad guy, Ben. I think there will be a Ben flashback episode where we see Ben coming of age. This will include details on his lost love Annie. I predict Annie gets pregnant and dies, I don’t know if the baby will be Ben’s or not. I think it probably won’t be, hence his anger. This is what births Ben’s preoccupation with Juliet and her research.
- Locke will be in the coffin. If you remember back to the end of the third season of ABC’s Lost, Jack visits a funeral home and he is the only one there. In the coffin we will find Locke. He will be forced off the island, become wheel-chair bound again, and in a desperate attempt to return to the island, Locke will die.
- We will find out the secret behind the Lost Smoke Monster.
- The original islander, Rousseau, will have a very dark and mysterious past. She is not dead, she is injured, but she is not gone.
- Henry Gale, the man whose identity Ben stole, will make a return this season. We will find out why and how he made it to the island. Although I don’t think Ben killed him, I think Ben would have if he had the chance.
- We will find out why Sayid chooses to work for Ben, and who Michael Abbadon is and why Sayid wants to kill him.
That is all I have, but I think it is enough. Season four of Lost has been such a whirlwind. With flashbacks and flash forwards, new characters and the confirmation of time travel, it is becoming harder to make accurate predictions. So, fair warning, take these with a grain of salt. It is a good thing that the writers have given us a few weeks to try to sort things out.
Comments
Name of the 9th episode has been confirmed as “The Shape of Things to Come”, not “Bakir”, as was previously reported. FYI
