Woot! One Hour Of Lost is Found

Yesterday, I wrote that the producers of Lost were in negotiations with the ABC mucky mucks to get one hour of Lost back.  Originally, season four was supposed to feature 16 episodes.  Well, during the writer’s strike, those 13 episodes were cut down to 8. The strike was then settled in time, and we gained an additional 5 episodes.  Well, the producers thought that they had much more than 13 hours of story to tell and were able to negotiate a 14th hour.  This is great news.

The extra hour comes in the form of an extended 3-hour season finale.  This 3 hour tour episode will be spread out over two nights. The first part will air May 15, and the second, 2 hour part will air May 29.

This is great on several levels.  For one, we get more lost.  Two, the producers care about the story, and are willing to go to bat for it in order to maintain story-telling integrity.  Third, the ABC big-wigs care enough about the show to put their money and time to work for it.  I think it is a win-win-win.
