I am no expert, but over my last few year os watching Lost, I have noticed a standard practice of waiting until the very end to hit the audience between the eyes with a gut wrenching shocker.
The writers had a different plan this time. First were hit with Jack and Kate, then Rousseau and the insight to how Miles’ powers work. We had all of this and it wasn’t even the first commercial yet. Wowzers, when the writers said they would have to “up the pace” this season they weren’t kidding. I will get more into the specifics soon during my wrap-up and review.
In the meantime, I will dedicate this episode to the tragically beautiful kiss, the single moment we hoped for but hate to see because of everything it might mean.

lostfan, i am looking forward to your review. i hope you can provide some insight. i have a question in the meantime: i wonder when the writers will reveal exactly how the oceanic 6 get off the island, and the implications it has on each of them? it would seem to me that they would have to put this off for a long time to keep the show going, otherwise it would answer too many of our questions. currently, the show seems centered around this mystery among other things. what does anyone else think?
