I have Some Lingering Questions - “Cabin Fever”

Here are some things that I am thinking out right now regarding the latest episode of Lost, “Cabin Fever.”

Was Locke’s mom’s accident an attempted murder? Did Widmore, Abbadon, or some other (Ben) try and run down Locke’s mom in order to keep him from being born?
Did Richard get upset when Locke chooses the knife because of what Locke is going to do with that knife? I think Locke is being set-up for a major fall from grace. I do not know if it is Ben’s plan or Michael Abaddon’s plan, but I think there is going to be a bad moment with Locke and that knife.
Is Aaron the next Locke or the next Ben? I am not sure which side of the “game” wants Aaron. I suspect we will see a “flash forward” sometime, possibly even as a final scene, with Locke or Ben asking Aaron “Which of these items already belong to you?”

speaking of aaron, a friend of mine mentioend that Locke’s Mom and Ben’s Mom were both named Emily. Neither was raised by their mother. Aarons mom is Claire (actresses name is Emily). That psychic told Claire that She had to raise him herself… now that claire is seperated from Aaron what does that mean? Is he the next Ben/Locke?

I too am very interested in who was in charge before Ben and if Alpert or someone is knocking up chicks in various time periods and getting their kids to the island. Aaron being born on the island (unlike Ben and Locke) could be a first, or a first in a long time.
