No Lost This Week, But we have Spoilers!

TimeNow that’s a title. Of course, if you are a fan of the ABC Series Lost, you know there is no episode this week. There will, of course, be a two hour season finale next week. The awesome thing about a two hour episode, is that it will allow the writers, producers, and actors time to explore, create, and hopefully, expose a little.

I don’t know why more television shows don’t do extended shows. I love they flow and feel of a long episode. The long episode allows for a complete story arc and plot map. Personally, I am looking forward to next week.

As for the promised spoilers, they come to use via Kristen over at E! Online. Here are the scoops (if you hate spoilers, don’t read ahead):

I can tell you that a series regular who has been on the series since the first season will not be back next season (season five). According to inside sources, this person’s contract has been put into a holding deal and the plan at this point is to have him or her return for season six. Guesses? (OK, I’ll spare you the frantic emails: It is not Jack or Sawyer. It’s a she.)

And Spoiler #2

Remember how I told you that time traveling and teleporting is most definitely happening?(Duh) Well, let’s just say that it’s going to be happening on a much larger scale in the coming seasons. And if I tell you any more about that twist, I will break the heart of this sweet guy who’s name rhymes with “Hey, mon” and karma will see to it that I return in the next life as grasshopper poo.

I am intrigued by that last one.  What will “large scale” time travel be?  Does that mean the entire island?  Does that mean people traveling at will or even randomly?  For that matter, if this turns into serious time travel drama, will it lose some of the mythical element and become just another sci-fi show?

We will see next year, or even after this season, what feel the show will develop.  I know that Lost has always been better than Quantum Leap, and I will be sad if it starts to represent the oldie but goodie.

I agree-I already don’t care for the time travelling theory that much. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out though. But if time travel turns out to be the major focus in the upcoming seasons, I would personally be disappointed and I think a lot of others would be too. Lets hope there is more to the bigger picture than that. I think the writers are pretty smart though and wouldn’t want to let the viewers down by limiting the storyline.

there are some publicity photos at the abc site that reveal some things. I will let you go there rather than describe them; don’t go if you don’t want to know.
