With negligible progress at the Screen Actors Guild negotiations, the majors are moving toward making the guild a last, best and final offer.
That’s right, the next television season could be interrupted because of a strike. No, this isn’t a joke, and it isn’t some kind of Lost time travel loop, and it isn’t one of Desmond’s flashes.
Here is the bottom line: the Screen Actors Guild and producers group (AMPTP) are in negotiations for a new contract, and the negotiations are not going well. There is a deadline of June 30th to work this out or the SAG can authorize a strike. Yes - that was not a typo - a strike.
It seems like Hollywood didn’t learn anything form the 2.1 billion dollars they lost during the writer’s strike.
